A sports massage is quite a different experience to a relaxation massage. Please message or call me if you want to chat through your requirements before making a booking. I'm happy to discuss anything through with you.

  • How does it work if you come to my home to give me a massage?
I've a mobile therapy table that I bring to your home. It's around 2 metres long and half metre wide so can easily fit into most lounges, dining rooms or bedrooms. I will set up wherever is most convienient and comfortable for you. I bring along wipes to ensure all the oils I use are removed before you get off the table. Sessions last between an hour and two hours but shorter sessions are available if required. You will need a towel to lay on.
  • Does a sports massage hurt?
Unfortunately yes it can. Depending on your muscle tightness, injury or previous body maintenance, different parts of your body may suffer more than others. I'll always work with you to apply the preferred level of pressure. But for the full affect, a deep massage will give the most benefit even though you may be tender for a while afterwards.
  • Do you offer a discount?
Yes! If you're a member of a running club, triathlon club or any sports club and have a vaild club membership card, a £5 discount is applied to all my treatments. If you prefer to visit my own home in Woodthorpe, a small discount may be applied.
  • Can you diagnose injuries?
I'd always recommend you visit a physio or a doctor before booking any massage. I can carry out an initial consultation and can advise if you need to see a physio, but I'm unable to give you a diagnosis of the injury. I can offer some advice and insight, based on my experience and knowledge but I'd always advise that you see a physio or doctor first.
  • How often do you recommend a massage?
For clients who are very sporty, I always recommend a sports massage every 3 or 4 weeks to help flush out any tightness in your muscles and help keep injuries and niggles to a minimum. Many of my clients train for big endurance events like marathons, Ironman or Ultra races, so not only is a pre-event sports massage highly recommended, but also a post-event relaxation massage to help the body recover. Plus, you've earned some pampering at that point!
  • What clothes do I need to wear?
Just your usual sports top and shorts is fine. Though depending on which area I am working on, a loose top that can easily be moved up may be best.
  • You mention a small fee may be applied for petrol? How does that work?
That's correct. For any home visits beyond 6 miles of Chesterfield, I may ask for a small petrol cost per visit - depending on how far away it is. If there are multiple bookings in the same home ony one petrol cost will apply.
